Every blessing ignored becomes a curse.
Paulo Coelho
I know that I’m a superstitious idiot but I’ve been feeling The Sword of Domiciles hanging over me for a while. If you don’t know November has not been a real lucky month for me the last few years.
November 17, 2003 my mom was in the hospital for respiratory problems and was being sent home the next morning cured. She died alone in the evening of a massive stroke.
November 2004 I had to go in for a cervical spine fusion because I was losing nerve function in my arms. I was off work for about 5 months but I did start blogging and met a lot of the people I still read on the web.
November 2005 I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis a condition that means my over strong immune system was attacking my own liver as a foreign body. Taking steroids for it and got all the worst side effects. In the hospital twice and my first ambulance ride. The worst was the revelation to The Boss and my daughters that I wasn’t superman. I still think I am but that pesky Kryptonite is everywhere now. I missed four months of work this time.
November 2006 I thought I was going to break the curse this year but on the day after Thanksgiving My Dad died. I did feel good that I got to talk to him and tell him I loved him a couple of days before he died in the hospital. First time I told him and first time he told me. We were so close.
November 2007…
Wish me luck.
damn sweety..that sucks...I'm sorry to hear that Novemeber is such a bad time for you....but the good side of it is...I was born in Novemeber...on the 12th to be exact..so concentrate on the fact that the YellowDog is going to be another year older...64 to be exact..and I dyed my hair blonde last night..don't ask..it really seemed like a good idea at the time..every time I walk by the mirror I burst out laughing...Annie thinks a stranger has moved in....I'm going to lie and tell every one it was a halloween trick that went wrong..I am sending positive prayers out to the Goddess for you..she said that she will try and drop by and protect you from all bad things..but with the republicans in charge...it's hard to do...
