I am not part of the problem. I am a Republican.
Dan Quayle
Well, Mark Foley has finally been ratted out by someone.
I know you must have heard about is hobby of making improper advances to Congressional Pages using E-mails and Instant Messages.
Most of the leadership in the House knew about it. , some for as long as five years. The Page who spoke of it said they were warned about Foley, but other pages are coming forward and saying they were never warned.
Now there is a call building up for Speaker Hastert to resign because he knew about the inappropriate actions and covered it up. The rumor is that he will stay Speaker of the house through the end of the year, though depending on the election results he may not have a choice anyway.
I can’t help thinking that if one gay Representative is acting this way with 16 and 17 year old boys, what is happening with the female Pages and all those old Horn dogs up there. I also wonder if he ever managed to meet alone with any of the boys.
Foley and his legal team are going full bore into his defense. They aren’t very original though.
I am an alcoholic and have gone into rehab for that and some emotional difficulties.
I was abused as a teenager by a clergyman. Though he refuses to give details.
Next he might claim that he was beaten and abused by his parents when he was a child.
The FBI is investigating to see if any Federal laws were broken.
Speaker Hastert has asked the Justice Department to investigate, and the Florida police are investigating too. I would think that anyone that knew about this should be charged too.
Hastert seems more concerned with who leaked the e-mails than whit Foley’s actions.
Tony Snow, White House Press Secretary said it was a case of some naughty e-mails.
Matt Drudge is claiming that the Pages egged him on.
Most original though, is the subtle way Fox News has tried to protect the Republicans.
They ran several times, updates on the story with a box below Foley with his name and listing him as a Democrat from Florida.
They really know what they are doing up there at the Capitol. Even though they knew of his inappropriate actions he was appointed co-chairman of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus, where he helped write the law that he may have violated.
I find it very hard to believe that there is such a thing as a gay Republican Congressman in the first place.
It’s going to be an interesting election this year.
who does this guy think he is? a kennedy or something.
i thought they had a patent on the rehab gambit.
