Random ramblings from my beer soaked melon about politics, religion, sex, stupidities, nature, and any other subject that penetrates the haze. Sometimes crude and not for the faint of heart or people with normal intelligence, or an abundance of common sense.

Missing In Action
This is - today's focus is kind of generational. Scott McClellan

Scott McClellan, The White House Press Secretary insiders say is on the way out.
He hasn’t given a press briefing for 19 days and there none scheduled the rest of the week. He has seemed a little stressed out when he gives one anyway, so I guess he could use a rest.
The insiders and confidential sources even have a reason for him to be let go. They say he lacks credibility.
Seems more like guilt by association to me.

I got out of the hospital last night and am going to be stuck at home for quite a while. I’m getting better all the time though.

There's No Crying In Congress.
Yield to temptation. It may not pass your way again.
Robert A. Heinlein

Oh, you should be ready to pay the piper though.
Lots of People.

Eight term Congressman Randy “DUKE” Cunningham who has based a lot of his fame on being a hot shot Vietnam War fighter jock has pleaded guilty to graft.
Just a little thing, $2.4 million in bribes from mostly defense contractors in exchange for government business favors.
I noticed that in all the stories I have seen they haven’t listed the companies that were involved.
Not much of a surprise that a lot of the equipment our troops get is junk that gets them killed or they just don’t have it because the companies over bid their ability to fill the contracts.
So the “Duke” is crying on international TV because he got caught and looses his toys and might have to spend 10 years in jail.
The thing is, this is only the beginning. Lots more to come from all points of the House, Senate and Administration.

Still waiting for Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell to explain the chunk of marble falling off the Supreme Court building. I bet it is brilliant!

I’m still in the Hospital, but hoping to get to go home this afternoon. I am getting a little better every day. :):):):)

Turkey Time!
A conclusion is the part where you got tired of thinking.
Unknown

Well, I can rest easy again this year. The poor dumb Turkeys who worked so hard to become the First Turkeys of the united states and maybe have a shot at being eaten by GWB did it all for nothing again. Well, not nothing. They did provide another nifty photo opp. Same old thing Bush won’t pardon a lot of people who at least seem to disserve it but Turkeys are more important.

I then got to thinking about it. I found out that this year the birds if they could talk would be saying “I’m going to Disney World!”

I have never been there.
My kids have never been there.
My grandkids are still waiting to go.
If I won the lottery today I might go if there was anything left after paying bills and providing for my relatives.
Gee who knew? All I had to do was be a big enough Turkey to get George W. Bush’s attention and I could go for free!

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Blogs.
I had a great rest on Sunday and woke up in the evening with energy but a lot of pain in the place down south where I store my brains. Later after eating a good meal I managed to discover the hard way that I had something that there was no possible way I was going to keep it from its getting infected. So wake up The Boss (She had just gone to sleep.)
After being in the ER less than an hour I found out that I had
1. Uncovered a very large Abbess just pretending to be diaper rash.
2. Was going back into the hospital, because it was going to have to be treated by a Surgeon and his wonderful wound clinic.
The Boss gave no argument after seeing the size.
I now have a vacuum pump hooked up to a place that I wont describe and The Boss who now has described the thing to everyone as she helped the nice wound ladies install the fancy rig I’m wearing and believes me now about having a high tolerance for pain.
Tomorrow The Wound Women are back for maintience and we are stuck waiting for approval from insurance to go home using a portable system. Right now it’s cheaper with my insurance just to keep me in the Hospital.

Sorry I didn’t get the word out sooner.

Got online finally with a Free 10 hour a month account.

Good news: My white count is still going down.
My liver and blood numbers are getting a little better every day.
I am going to post this and get some good IV drugs to kill my pain for awhile and let me sleep right through till breakfast.
Have fun I will try to read some Blogs tomorrow

SUPRISE!
Don't ever become a pessimist... a pessimist is correct oftener than an optimist, but an optimist has more fun, and neither can stop the march of events.
Robert A. Heinlein

I thought I was getting better!

Had a little crisis Monday night and ended up with my very first in a few things.

1. First time passing out from a 101.5 temperature.
2. First Ambulance ride.
3. First time passing out in the Emergency Room after they thought they had me stabilized, and not even know it happened for24 hours.
4. First time I asked an Emergency Room Doctor how my blood numbers were and have her throw up her hands and say they were insane! This after comparing them to what they were a week earlier.
5. First stay in the hospital without surgery.
6. Worst of all, waking up when the Ambulance arrived at my home to see how much panic I had caused The Boss.

I’m still in the hospital it’s about 1 AM Thursday and worrying about my Blogging friends in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. We got lucky in Ohio and the storms blew themselves out.

They say I became dehydrated and my blood pressure was almost nothing. It’s finally up to normal levels and they took me off of my BP medicine. I also had almost no Potassium and they even gave me Magnesium. I have now had a Saline IV for over 50 hours with little bags of antibiotic about 8 times a day. They don’t even let me walk to the bathroom by myself.

The blood numbers are getting better but I’m still getting cramps in my hands and legs from low potassium. I’m learning more about this Doctor stuff every day.

I got my new power cord for my laptop and have it here now, but they won’t let me try to hack the wireless network here. I’m going to try to get a dial-up to work to post this.

I miss the Blogs and hope everyone has made it through the strange weather OK.

Reduced expectations
Word from my Doctor is that my treatment is working, but the side effects, no strength or energy reserves and disrupted sleep patterns, (you know about that Babs.) is bad enough that working the job I do is actually dangerous because I am alone much of the time. I am now off work till at least the end of the month. Thank whoever for at least partial sick pay and medical benefits. I'm a lot luckier than many in that respect.
Now I can get my Blogs in shape and actually write something that someone might like to read. :)

Observable Differences
Just something that has bugged me that I read yesterday.
I'm just throwing this out there, and realize that it seems to apply to all of the Beltway Bandits, regardless of political ideology.
Scooter is under indictment and must as is his right prepare a defense team.
If I was being charged with a crime I too would be looking for a Lawyer to defend me. I would probably have to find some way to pay for his services, as the laws guaranteeing representation are very hard to satisfy if you own anything.
Here is what I would like people to ponder though.
I'm in trouble I get a Lawyer.
Scooter gets in trouble he starts assembling a defense team, (needed in a case of this magnitude I suppose.) but why is a large part of the team he is putting together a public relations organization to handle spin. How is that part of a criminal defense in a court of law? He's not even an elected official.
Sorry this is a little scattered but the mindset behind it just bugs me. :)

LIVE AND LEARN.
OUCH!
Well, I finally did it. I finally hit a deer.
I was driving my old Dodge Intrepid home from visiting my Stepdad. My 16 year old Son was in the front right seat with my 14 year old son right behind him.
We were going down a hill on a two lane highway, only going about 45 when a deer appeared ahead... I slowed down to give it time to pass and was at about 25 MPH and it was off the road when a full grown buck with horns tried to jump past us.
He hit the driver’s side hood up onto the passenger side windshield and over the side of the car. Broken headlights and a hood that is all rippled and a broken windshield, but it held together except for a couple of small holes. The dear went down for a couple of minutes and managed to get up and into the woods soon after, with a hurt leg. The boys got a good look at how big a deer really is before he left.
My 16 year old is learning to drive right now and like me seems content to take his time. Yesterday I told him about a wreck on the other side of the state where 4 boys a little older than him wrapped their car around a tree and were all killed.
I think living through the suddenness of a real accident where you know you can’t do one thing to avoid it has taught him more.
So there can be good in something like this. I’m just glad we didn’t get hurt. People get killed when dear hit their windshields all the time.
Well enough rambling it’s almost time for bed. :)
